With movies dominating the summer months, we have fewer big, noteworthy shows to look for on television and streaming in June, but we still have some pretty great ones to look forward to. We asked you to vote for your Most Anticipated TV or Streaming Show of June, and while the top responses weren’t entirely unexpected, there was one surprising entry that managed to sneak into the top five. Read on for the full list!
No. 1
The Bear: Season 4
(2025)
Premiere Date: June 25, 2025 on FX on Hulu
No surprises here. The Bear has been a critical darling and fan favorite since its first season, making Emmy winners and movie stars out of its talented cast, and it’s considered one of the best contemporary series on television. As such, it ran away with the top spot by a gargantuan margin. Since its debut in 2022, The Bear has released each subsequent season in its entirety in June of the following year, and 2025 is no different, so fans can look forward to bingeing the stressful but riveting kitchen adventures Carmy, Syd, Richie and the rest of the crew in just a few weeks.
No. 2
Squid Game: Season 3
(2025)
Premiere Date: June 27, 2025 on Netflix
Squid Game may no longer be the cultural juggernaut it was when the first season debuted in the midst of the pandemic, but when season 2 debuted on Netflix right after Christmas last year, it became the most-viewed premiere ever for the streamer. With the third and final season, which was filmed concurrently with season 2, coming just six months later, it seems the fans who stuck around are itching to see how the story comes to its close, landing it solidly at No. 2 for the month.
No. 3
The Gilded Age: Season 3
(2025)
Premiere Date: June 22, 2025 on HBO
We’ve got another Downton Abbey film coming later this year — the final one, in fact — but until then, fans can get their fill of period upstairs-downstairs drama from its spiritual successor, The Gilded Age. Like Downton, The Gilded Age was created by Julian Fellowes and follows the personal and professional lives of several characters living in the titular era. There aren’t any spies, superheroes, or zombies, just well-written characters in compelling interpersonal relationships. And as we saw with Downton, that’s all you need to make damn good television.
No. 4
Ironheart: Season 1
(2025)
Premiere Date: June 24, 2025 on Disney+
Marvel’s latest offering on Disney+ follows Riri Williams, the young genius inventor who was first introduced — and played a pivotal role — in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The series, executive produced by Black Panther director Ryan Coogler, sees Dominique Thorne reprise her role as the titular would-be hero, whose desire for recognition brings her into the orbit of a mysterious man with questionable motives (Anthony Ramos). Marvel’s TV series have lost a bit of their luster, but with Coogler’s involvement and a strong cast, Ironheart could be one of the studio’s stronger efforts.
No. 5
Countdown: Season 1
(2025)
Premiere Date: June 25, 2025 on Prime Video
We did mention a surprise in the intro, didn’t we? Granted, after the big four titles above, it was really anyone’s game to land the final spot, but in truth, Countdown only lost to Ironheart by one vote. Maybe it’s the explosive trailer for the espionage series about an LAPD officer assigned to a special task force that uncovers a terrorist plot, or maybe it’s the presence of Supernatural and The Boys star Jensen Ackles, or maybe it’s the fact that Prime Video seems to have this spy-action show thing down, what with Jack Ryan, The Terminal List, Citadel, and The Agency. Whatever the case, fans are ready for it.
